Orientation marché

Une orientation marché est un comportement commercial ou une stratégie marketing qui met l'accent sur l'identification et la satisfaction des besoins révélés ou cachés des clients. Selon le point de vue d'Israel Kirzner, l'esprit d'entreprise est un processus de découverte dans lequel des opportunités et des incitations sont offertes spontanément à l'entrepreneur, lequel répond au marché en s'engageant dans un comportement axé sur le marché. Cette approche se différencie de l'orientation entrepreneuriale dont les attributs s'identifient plus à l'approche de l'entrepreneur innovateur de Joseph Schumpeter mais se rapproche du concept du management entrepreneurial.

La découverte et la satisfaction des besoins et des désirs de ses clients

L'orientation marché est une philosophie d'entreprise axée sur la découverte et la satisfaction des besoins et des désirs de ses clients grâce à son mix marketing. Il est courant d'entendre déclarer que les stratégies de marketing passées étaient concentrées seulement sur la décision de déterminer des points de vente pour les produits une fois qu'ils ont été produits. Cela n'était pas toujours le cas, particulièrement dans la situation où les produits n'étaient pas standardisés, comme par exemple, les produits de l'artisanat ou pour les biens pas exactement uniformes comme les produits de l'agriculture. Cependant, en y regardant de plus près, il semble que l'orientation marché a toujours existé depuis les foires et marchés ancestraux, en essayant d'adapter les produits pour répondre aux demandes des clients avant de décider de les produire. L'orientation marché du plan marketing d'une entreprise tente essentiellement de coordonner les besoins des clients avec la capacité de l'entreprise à répondre à ces besoins.

Avec une économie de plus en plus mondiale et des entreprises de toutes tailles qui offrent de plus en plus de choix aux consommateurs, les entreprises doivent être disposées à adapter leur orientation marché pour rester compétitives. Le service marketing lance diverses recherches pour déterminer ce que les consommateurs considèrent comme des besoins immédiats, des préoccupations primaires ou des préférences personnelles. Cela permet à une entreprise de concentrer les fonds de développement des produits sur les caractéristiques les plus demandées du moment dans l'espoir de satisfaire les désirs des consommateurs.

De plus, l'orientation marché fournit, au service après-vente, des améliorations adaptées aux besoins spécifiques des consommateurs. Cela contribue à assurer que la satisfaction de la clientèle reste élevée dans son ensemble et qu'elle peut fonctionner comme un moyen de promouvoir la fidélité à la marque et de déclencher une publicité positive par les recommandations[1] et le bouche à oreille[2].

La découverte des besoins latents

Au-delà des besoins exprimés par le consommateur, une analyse de données supplémentaire peut révéler des tendances ou des désirs des consommateurs qui ne sont pas spécifiquement exprimés. Ces tendances peuvent permettre au produit de se développer de manière intuitive, en essayant d'anticiper les besoins des consommateurs avant qu'ils ne deviennent évident. Cela peut inclure des améliorations que le consommateur peuvent ne pas être directement conscients d'avoir comme option.

Parfois, l'orientation marché peut révéler les désirs des clients qui ne sont pas rentables à mettre en œuvre. Cela laisse l'entreprise en mesure de déterminer les besoins indiqués par le consommateur qui permettront d'obtenir des rendements optimaux pour l'entreprise tout en répondant aux attentes ou aux besoins des clients en général. Cela favorise également la stratégie de développement à long terme, car les options qui ne sont pas rentables aujourd'hui peuvent devenir rentables en fin de compte.

Le développement de l'entreprise axé sur une orientation marché repose d'abord sur le besoin du consommateur, en créant le produit autour de ses besoins et de ses désirs exprimés. L'orientation produits s'appuie sur une stratégie de différenciation des produits et met davantage l'accent sur le développement de nouveaux produits. L'orientation vers les ventes se concentre moins sur le client et sur le produit. Elle redirige plutôt ses énergies vers l'acte de vente à travers divers mécanismes axés sur la publicité, tels que les publicités télévisées et sur les appels de télémarketing. Bien que toutes les approches sont nécessaires pour une stratégie globale de marketing, la plupart des entreprises se concentrent sur une préoccupation principale prévalant sur les autres.
