Emerson Schmidt

Emerson Peter Schmidt (1899-1976) fut un économiste américain, professeur d’université puis directeur de la recherche économique à la Chambre de Commerce des États-Unis (1943-1963). Collaborateur régulier de la revue The Freeman au sein de la Foundation for Economic Education, il s’est imposé comme un défenseur du libéralisme économique classique, critiquant avec constance l’intervention étatique et plaidant pour la responsabilité individuelle et le rôle central du marché libre dans la préservation de la liberté politique.
