Sécession

En politique, la sécession désigne l'acte par lequel une partie de la population d'un État se sépare volontairement de cet État, par voie pacifique ou violente, pour constituer un État indépendant ou pour se réunir à un autre. Faire sécession consiste donc à se séparer d'un État, d'une collectivité.
Par extension, la sécession désigne le refus d'obéir aux autorités établies (désobéissance civile).
